Supreme Court to hear pleas on alleged police excesses at CJP march

India's Supreme Court will hear two fresh petitions on Monday alleging police excesses during the July 20 crackdown on student protesters in Delhi. Chief Justice Surya Kant said in open court on Friday that no plea had previously been filed, criticising 'reckless' reports that the court had refused to list one. The CRPF said it is verifying media reports of pellet injuries.
