'Main Vaapas Aaunga' writer on keeping Partition scenes balanced
Imtiaz Ali's Partition drama has drawn praise for its treatment of reconciliation. The story follows 95-year-old Ishwar, played by Naseeruddin Shah, who wants to revisit Sargodha in present-day Pakistan, baffling his family and especially his grandson Nirvair, played by Diljit Dosanjh. Co-writer Nayanika Mahtani said a balanced view was essential because such scenes 'can be rage-bait'.
