Jhandu Kumar wins India's first medal at CWG 2026
Para powerlifter Jhandu Kumar won India's first medal at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, taking bronze in the men's 72kg category with 130.9 points. The 28-year-old from Bihar, born Avinash Kumar, lifted 181kg and 190kg but missed 196kg on his final attempt. A polio survivor mentored by Paralympian Rajinder Singh Rahelu, he set a 206kg national record last year.
