Floods and landslips kill six more across Assam and Meghalaya
Floods and rain-triggered landslips killed six people in Assam and Meghalaya over 48 hours, taking the northeast's toll to at least 25 since late June. Assam's disaster authority said five died in Jorhat and Karbi Anglong. Flooding worsened on Monday, affecting 3.63 lakh people across 16 districts, and railways cancelled, diverted or short-terminated several passenger trains in the state.
