Direct tax take in Andhra and Telangana rises 19.47% in first quarter
Suresh Battini, Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, said in Visakhapatnam on Monday that direct tax collections across the two states grew 19.47% in the opening quarter of 2026-27. Net collections reached Rs 41,568 crore by 17 July, with Andhra Pradesh contributing Rs 6,607 crore, a rise of 17%. He credited wider taxpayer participation and compliance.
