Centre weighs a new incentive scheme for food processing
The government is considering a fresh incentive framework for the food processing sector that may depart from the existing production-linked incentive scheme, which rewards companies for incremental sales. The food processing ministry is reviewing lessons from the current programme and consulting industry, including on segments such as plant-based proteins and nutrition products.
