CCI clears Zomato of abuse-of-dominance claims over platform, delivery fees
The Competition Commission of India has closed a complaint against Eternal Ltd, Zomato's parent, finding no prima facie case of abuse of dominance in the food-delivery app's pricing. In its Thursday order, the regulator saw no violation over platform fees, delivery charges or the gap between restaurant menu prices and app-displayed prices, and rejected a consumer's plea to halt platform-fee collection.
