45% of Indian exports to US exempt from new 10% tariff, says government
About 45% of India's exports to the United States will not face the new 10% US tariff, the Commerce Ministry said on Saturday. The remaining 55% will attract the 'forced labour' levy, though at a lower rate than most other countries the US investigated. The government said it is also in talks with Washington on a quota-based system for Indian textile exports.
